I invite you to join me in my adventures and discoveries as I serve for the Peace Corps in Cape Verde. I remind you (per order of the Peace Corps) that this website reflects my views alone and not those of the Peace Corps or the American government.

surprise!

So I know I said it would be 9 weeks, but after spending the day in the sun exploring Cidade Velha, the first city and original capital of Cape Verde, we have been given a generous hour in Praia to use the internet. I have been waiting patiently and have 15 minutes, so I thought the blog would be the best way to go.

Every day here has been a new adventure. This past week I taught for the first time in Model School and have learned A LOT about teaching and myself (and I have even MORE respect now for every teacher I know). I also began Portuguese after two weeks of Kriolu, which I am still far from fluent in... Lastly, I also had my first allergic reaction to food. I am pretty sure I am allergic to mangoes, so for everyone who is jealous of me being within walking distance of mango trees, be jealous no longer.

I am running out of time, so bye for now. Please write! I write back! txeu!

Today was the Lowell FOld Festival - Hot as anything, but fun. I had Filipino Food last night - the best that the festival has to offer. Think you often - CPP istn't the same this year.
